This very popular telescope of Meade is a perfect telescope for the beginning and more advanced astronomer.

The ETX125 telescope stands out from most telescopes because finding objects and aligning the telescope has never been so easy with AutoStar controller. The motorized telescope has a database with 30.000 objects, you just push a button and tell the telescope what object you would like to see and the ETX 125PE will do the rest.

You want to see deep-space galaxies? Simply push the button and the telescope will move and point at the deep-sky galaxy of your choice. You want to see the moon, or Jupiter or other stars? Just pick an object you like to see and press a button, the ETX 125PE AutoStar controller will automatically point the telescope to your desired object and put it right in your eyepiece.

What makes this telescope stand out?

1. First of all it has something called "EasyAlign" with "SmarFinder". Normally you have to align your telescope manually by pointing at a certain star. This is not necessary anymore, as the telescope will do this automatically for you. The ETX 90PE telescope automatically levels itself, points north and sets the time. The only thing you have to do is enter your location. The telescope will then point to its first alignment star, you then use the smart finder to center the red dot over watch of the alignment stars for ultra-precise point accuracy. And that's it!
2. Besides the EasyAlign this telescope also has a controller called the "AutoStar", this is a handset that automatically selects the objects you like to see. It has a database of 30.000 objects so you will not be bothered anytime soon. Additionally it also has something called "Tonight's Best" which shows you the best objects that can be seen through your telescope at the particular night and time you are observing.
3. The optics of this telescope is very good. The Meade has an optic-design called "Maksutov-Cassegrain". This means that the telescope will both use lenses and mirrors to observe celestial objects. The diffraction-limited optics are so bright and crisp that the ETX-90PE telescope consistently outperforms telescope of a larger aperture. The glass within the telescope is BK-7 glass and the mirrors are made of Pyrex.
4. The telescope has "ultra-high transmission coatings" (UHTC). The coating enhances your views as it is designed to optimize the visual, photographic and CCD imaging of the ETX90. Stars, galaxies and nebulae will be a lot brighter.
