The Meade ETX80 mm telescope is the successor of the popular Meade ETX70 telescope. It's aperture is 14% larger than the ETX70 which delivers more light gathering for increased image brightness and offers better details.

You will be able to observe moon craters, the clouds surrounding Jupiter and the rings of Saturn.

This telescope is delivered with an "AutoStar" computer. Finding objects have never been so easy. The AutoStar will automatically align the telescope for you and will also automatically locate celestial objects just with the push of a button. The AutoStar computer has a database with over 1400 celestial objects, enough for hours of fun.

AutoStar Controller

The AutoStar controller helps you quickly find and GO-TO more than 1,400 objects in the night sky. View planets, stars, galaxies, nebulae, and comets - all at the push of a button. AutoStar is pre-programmed with several guided tours, including the popular Tonight's Best. To take it, just input date, time and location. Then let AutoStar take you on a guided tour of the best objects that particular night. The AutoStar controller can be updated, too. Log on to Meade.com to download software upgrades, guided tours, and timely objects like comets - free. Keep your AutoStar up-to-date and your telescope will grow with you for years to come.

Furthermore, this telescope also comes with a DVD that will teach you about the sky and celestial objects.

The Meade 80ETX has also some advanced features:

  2. Has a built-in internal time chip (TC) that keeps precise calibrated time and date.
  3. Included is a bubble-level/compass is provided to make initialization faster and easier.
  4. Included is a sturdy, adjustable aluminum tripod.
